אֲמַדch. sam(אמדto form an approximate estimate, to guess; to appraise, judge, deliver an experts opinion). Bekh.61a להכי אמדתיך I guessed this was thy intention. Keth.68a הא דאמידניה in the one case it means that we have formed an opinion about him (know whether he is stingy or liberal).Part. pass. אָמִיד.
